€70.00 EUR
'MEDUSA' - from a current on-going self-portrait photography project exploring myth, archetypes and the shadow.
30% of each sale goes to 'BLOOM' an NGO that works hard to preserve the marine environment and species from unnecessary destruction and to increase social benefits in the fishing sector.
Medusa, a figure in Greek mythology, is closely related to the oceans being a daughter of sea gods. I created this self-portrait image after a painting of her by Lucien Lévy-Dhurmer in Musee D'Orsay literally drew me in. From there, she wouldn't let me go and I spent months researching and journeying with Medusa through depictions in art, literature & culture. I spent time with her in ritual and tried to let her speak through me and her calling came loud from the depths of the seas telling us to awaken .
With this offer, I hope to raise awareness and give back to the conservation of our Mother Earth and her overexploited oceans.
